Welcome to RentHelpMKE.org, the future website of the Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center (MKE RHRC).
To serve as a trusted source for the rental housing community and to connect people to resources, education, and services that help prevent eviction, regardless of age, family situation, or housing status.
The MKE RHRC leverages expertise from many facets of the rental housing community and brings them together under one roof. It will serve as a virtual and physical clearinghouse of information and a comprehensive referral network, connecting people to rental assistance, legal and mediation services, and homeless prevention resources, as well as providing consistent, trusted information on tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities in Milwaukee County.
While most households that seek eviction prevention services are in crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken this to unprecedented heights. The pandemic has created a need for new services to accommodate the current crisis, while also planning for future demands. In the past five months, co-partners have administered $15 million in rental assistance to low-income tenants and have prevented at least 3,500 evictions. We’re just getting started.
If you are in need of immediate rental assistance prior to the launch of this website, please call the MKE RHRC help line at (414) 895-RENT (414-895-7368) or send an email to email@example.com.
The MKE RHRC help line will direct you to the appropriate agency for the type of assistance you need. If you are seeking emergency rent assistance funds, you can also fill out a rent assistance application.
